An Iraqi security source announced the alert of Iraqi security forces in the coming days, according to Mehr News Agency.

An Iraqi security source said Friday that Iraqi security forces are on alert for preparations to hold Arbaeen ceremonies next week.

The Iraqi security source said that the special security plan for the Arbaeen ceremony in Baghdad and other provinces will be implemented on Monday, August 9.

“All security and military forces will be on alert,” he said.

Arbaeen Hosseini is the 40th day after the testimony of Imam Hussein (AS) on the tenth of Muharram (Ashura Day) and is in the lunar calendar, coinciding with zero every year. Since the lunar calendar is adjusted based on the moon’s circulation and the lunar year is about 2 to 5 days shorter than the solar year, the date of Arbaeen in the solar calendar is about 2 days earlier. For this reason, Arbaeen has been in different solar and seasonal months in different years. For example, in the solar year, Arbaeen will be held on Thursday, August 6. In terms of lunar history, there is no difference between Iran and Iraq, and the day of Arbaeen in both countries is the same as zero; But due to the difference in the sight of the crescent, there may be a one -day difference in the beginning or end of the lunar month between different countries. This difference usually has no significant impact on the time of the Arbaeen ceremony, and the movement of pilgrims is in harmony with the official Iraqi calendar.

The date of the movement of Iranian pilgrims to Karbala to participate in Arbaeen’s walk usually begins about two weeks before Arbaeen Day. Given that Arbaeen will be held on Thursday, August 6, the main wave of Iranian pilgrims will begin in the early second decade of August, especially on Friday, August 6.

Many pilgrims prefer to start their move by August 6 to have enough opportunity to walk from Najaf to Karbala. This timeframe allows pilgrims to benefit from the facilities of the car and reach Karbala with better peace and planning before the overcrowding of the last days. The highest density of pilgrims from the Iranian borders, especially the Mehran border, occurs over the same period.
