German Defense Secretary Boris Pistorius said the coury would deliver two Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine after agreeing with the United States.
According to the agreeme, Germany will be the first coury to receive the latest version of the Patriot system from the United States in exchange for sending Patriot to Ukraine.
In a stateme, the German defense minister said: “Thanks to the US commitme, Germany can initially support Ukraine by sending launchers and then by parts of the Patriot system.”
According to the stateme, the German army will first send additional Patriot launches to Ukraine in the coming days and then provide additional parts of the system within two or three mohs.
Berlin will also receive a new version of the Patriot system from the United States at a far faster rate than other couries.
Ukraine’s need for air defense is increasingly felt as Russian air strikes against Ukraine iensify this summer. According to Reuters, Patriot defensive systems have shown that they are effective in destroying Russian ballistic missiles!
