Dr. Hossein Yousefi, a professor at the Faculty of Energy Engineering and Sustainable Resources at the University of Tehran, announced a study in which an innovative framework was preseed to design and model the energy system with the developme of electric cars and solar panels.
Referring to the necessity of sustainable and optimized energy infrastructure developme in areas such as the southern islands of the coury, Yousefi said: The main challenge in such areas is not just sustainable electricity supply, but at the same time managing electricity demand, fossil fuels and the use of indigenous capacities such as solar radiation and clean transportation.
Professor of the Faculty of Energy and Sustainable Resources in this project, emphasized: “We tried, with a comprehensive look, modeling a combined energy system based on solar panels (PVs) and electric cars (EV) in ieracting with the existing energy network in a way that is both technically and economically and environmeally sustainable.”
Researcher at the University of Tehran, poiing out that one of the distinctions of this study is the use of concomita models of electricity and gasoline at the regional level, added: For the first time, in a case study, we were able to model energy and fuel consumption on a strategic island such as Qeshm. These predictions allow us to model the capacity needed to future developme of the island’s energy system with emphasis on PV and electric cars infrastructure.
He poied to the practical outputs of the research: The results of the study, based on formal input data (including reports by the Ministry of Energy and the coury’s energy balance sheet), showed that by selecting an optimal combination of energy system compones (such as panel capacity, fossil power plas and electric cars), carbon emissions can be greatly reduced and low -cost energy. These findings can be helpful for energy policy makers and companies active in the field of energy.
It is worth noting that the full text of this study (here) is published in the Iernational Journal of Sustainable Futures (Demand Forecasting and PV/EV-iegrated Energy System Modeling for Achieving a Sustainable Futures.
