The first Thailand and Cambodian negotiations 7 hours after Trump’s tariff threat – Mehr News Agency | Iranian and world news
A spokesman for the Thai government said the prime minister and his Cambodian counterpart today are negotiating with US mediation today to end the deadly clashes, according to the Mehr News Agency.
According to Thai government spokesman Jiraio Hongsub, Potham Vichayyachai, the interim prime minister and Han Mantet, will meet with Cambodia’s counterpart today at 9pm local time.
The meeting will be held at the office of Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim as a periodic head of the Southeast Asian Union (ASA).
The first negotiations of the parties have been held since the start of the clashes on July 9, two hours after US President Donald Trump’s claim to agree to Thailand and Cambodia leaders to resolve tension and immediate access to the ceasefire.
After a separate conversation with the prime ministers of the two countries, Trump threatened that Washington would not enter into business negotiations as long as the clashes continued.
