
Researchers at the University of Tehran School of Governance in a research article led by Dr. Reyhaneh Levoni, a member of the Faculty of Governance of Tehran University, in collaboration with Amir Mohammad Moghani, a doctoral stude at the Tehran University of Governance, were investigated by the National Energy Research.
“The energy engine is the driving force of the economy of the world and acts as the cornerstone of industrial developme and growth; Especially for petroleum couries that are heavily depende on oil revenues. In this regard, protecting these resources is esseial for stability and prosperity. Energy security is not only an economic concern, but one of the fundameal aspects of national security for oil -producing couries, as fluctuations in oil production and prices can threaten their domestic stability and influence in the global market. “
He added: “Despite the various challenges in ensuring sustainable supply of energy resources, especially oil and gas, energy security has become one of the main focus of national security strategies during the 21st ceury, so today, due to geopolitical dynamics, energy regulation, energy system vulnerability, and energy systems, and energy systems. In general, energy governance includes various elemes such as: addressing security risks in global energy markets, improving infrastructure, diversifying energy resources, strategic planning, cyber security, geopolitical considerations, climate change and iernational political economy.
“By implemeing a favorable governance framework that prioritizes transparency, accouability and sustainability, couries can also manage the risks effectively using their energy resources and infrastructure to ensure their long -term energy security,” said a member of the Faculty of Governance at the University of Tehran. In addition, understanding policymakers of the importance of energy governance in oil -producing couries will help maiain national security stability and secure the national ierest of oil -producing couries. Therefore, energy security for oil -rich couries requires a combination of domestic policy measures, iernational cooperation and effective energy governance to reduce the risks and ensure sustainable and reliable energy supply for their couries and the world market. “
He emphasized that oil -rich couries need to impleme a holistic strategy to boost national security and flexibility, diversify energy resources, invest in renewable energy technologies, increase energy productivity, strengthen and protect vital infrastructure, improve their readiness and reaction in emergencies, including these strategies.
“The findings of the research showed that the proper design of energy governance frameworks can dramatically improve national security,” said Loni, relying on academic literature from year 1 to 2. “These frameworks play a key role in boosting energy security and national security by increasing stability, managing risks and aligning resources with long -term goals.”
Poiing out that an effective governance includes elemes such as revenue manageme, fair distribution of resources, cooperation between governmes, industries and communities, compatibility with global political changes, and alignme with social values, he said: “These elemes generally guaraee that energy -related wealth can be transformed io sustainable security and prosperity. In addition, with the gradual decline in fossil fuels, investing in renewable technologies for oil -rich couries is vital to influence the global energy market. These measures can guaraee the position of these couries in the future of energy. “
At the end, Loni, stating that future research on energy governance indicators can also focus on several areas to increase our understanding of governance practices in the energy sector, suggesting comparative analysis, longitudinal studies, case studies, and methodological developmes as future research.
