According to RCO News Agency quoting Iraq’s official news agency (Wait), The Iraqi Foreign Ministry by issuing a statement on the start of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party’s disarmament process (PKK. K.) Welcome.

According to the statement, the first steps of this process were taken near Sulaimaniyah province in Iraqi Kurdistan; A move within the framework of the party’s previous commitment to end armed activities after more than forty years of conflict.

The Iraqi Foreign Ministry has seen this transformation as an important turning point in the path of disarmament and has assessed it as a real opportunity to strengthen stability, end the cycle of violence, and open new prospects for peaceful understanding and coexistence in the region.

The statement further emphasized that the Iraqi government fully supports the process and considers the move a step towards the launch of a new phase of constructive cooperation with the Turkish Republic; Cooperation that will be based on joint action to address security challenges and thus strengthen the sovereignty and stability of the two countries.
