Researchers at the Faculty of Geography, University of Tehran, published a pioneering article in the reputable journal Sustainable Futures, have presented a conceptual framework for revolutionary planning in sustainable urban planning, which has been nominated for Best Researchers and Research Award at the Second International Conference on Environmental Science and Energy Science.
The study, conducted by Dr. Keramatollah Ziairi, a professor at the University of Tehran and Ehsan Handkar, a postgraduate researcher at the University of Tehran, is the first integrated model to integrate Metaireh technology with spatial analysis, participatory simulation and artificial intelligence to address future cities against challenges such as climate change and urban development.
“Key findings show that Metaurce, by creating” urban digital twins “, enables real -time development policies,” Dr. Ziairi said. This framework, by combining GIS data, remote sensing and IoT, enables land use optimization and resource management and, through interactive environments, enables citizens’ unprecedented participation in urban space design.
“However, researchers, however, have serious challenges, including the need for advanced digital infrastructure, the gap for low -income communities, and the need to formulate ethical frameworks,” said the University of Tehran.
“This research is open to the design of the next -generation smart towns and focusing on the practical model of the model in” Urban Smart Zones “and the development of decentralized governance with blockchain technology,” said a professor at the Faculty of Geography.
