Ghalibaf: Sanctions have failed to surrender Iran and Venezuela
Speaking to Venezuela, the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran emphasized the importance of parliameary cooperation to advance bilateral relations in a conversation with Venezuela, referring to the values and struggles of the two couries, which formed their close cooperation.
According to RCO News Agency, the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf during a trip to Venezuela cited the strong cooperation of Iran and Venezuela, highlighting the role of both couries in world energy markets and their joi struggle against US -European coercion.
Ghalibaf emphasized that the alliance between Tehran and Caracas is based on the shared values of independence, justice and freedom.
The telephoto network reported that in an ierview with the media, Ghalibaf poied to the depth of bilateral relations in the economic, political, cultural, environmeal and tourism spheres and emphasized the importance of parliameary cooperation to advance these relations.
He further emphasized the common ierest in maiaining the stability and security of the region, saying that peaceful and diplomatic solutions would be needed to resolve the conflict.
The Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly emphasized the importance of the private sector in the developme of cooperation and stated that ieractions between Iranian and Venezuelan businesses are increasing.
The head of the Islamic Council said Iran and Venezuela are importa members of OPEC and one of the world’s major energy producers despite US sanctions.
“These measures have not been able to obey our governmes and bring us to their knees,” Ghalibaf said.

“We are a major oil exporter, but we also need the developme of our nuclear industries,” said Ghalibaf, in response to Western criticism of Iran’s nuclear activities.
He emphasized Iran’s right to enrich uranium under iernational supervision and the importance of transparency and cooperation with iernational regulatory agencies to ensure the exclusive nature of Iran’s nuclear program.
The Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly emphasized Iran’s commitme to the “Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons” (NPT) and said that nuclear weapons had no place in Iran’s defense doctrine.
He warned of any attempt to raise Iran’s nuclear program through sanctions or military threats, saying that such actions would result in the opposite and would only exacerbate tensions in the area.
Ghalibaf called for a return to diplomacy and dialogue based on bilateral respect and understanding.
