Moscow: Ukraine has not responded to the date of Istanbul talks
A Russian presidential spokesman said Ukraine has not yet responded to the proposal of Istanbul talks in early June.
Russian Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said today (Thursday): “We have not received a response from Kiev to hold another round of Istanbul talks on June 6 (Monday).”
Peskov also emphasized the process of the negotiations that Russia would not publicly discuss the details of Ukraine’s settlement.
He further described Ukrainian requests for immediate submission of Russian memorandum of understanding on resolution as unconscious.
According to Rihanovsti, a Kremlin spokesman also stated that the continuation of direct negotiations between Russia and Ukraine is important.
He also said that yesterday’s statements by Lavrov (Russian Foreign Minister) clearly described Russia’s proposal to continue negotiating with Ukraine.
In another part of his remarks, Peskov stated that “there is no plan for a new dialogue between Putin and Trump”: Putin and Trump’s dialogue can be coordinated at any time.
