In the opening ceremony of the Iernational College of Reconstruction and Restoration of Classic Car, held at the Iranian Museum of Historical Automobiles, attended by Hamid Reza Soleimani, director of the Group of Disposable Museums (subsidiary of the Mostazafan Foundation), Ahmad Tabatabai, head of Iran’s Ikum, emphasized the role of children and adolesces in the future:
Children are the main heirs of museums, and even the most specialized museums must be able to communicate with children and adolesces. The museum is a space for the next generation and must be welcomed by all segmes of society by creating a pervasive space. The more the museum attracts the more successful audience.
Tabatabai’s environme, referring to the limitations of monumes to make change, emphasized:
New technologies have made it possible for more people to enjoy museum spaces. These technologies make our work much easier.
He also did not consider the car museum only to store old objects, adding:
Many of our challenges today, including the warming of the land, are the result of the forgetfulness of managerial traditions, including water manageme. These reminders are part of the responsibility of museums in today’s society.
With the opening of this iernational college, the Iranian Museum of Historical Automobiles, in addition to displaying valuable cars, became a specialized ceer for training and restoration of classic cars.
