The UK is ready to sign an agreeme to transfer the sovereigy of the Chagus Islands to Morris.
According to RCO News Agency reports today, Britain is set to sign an agreeme that will be transferred to Maurice, while the future of the British -US joi military base in Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean.
The agreeme, first announced in October, allows Britain to maiain corol of the military base in Diego Garcia, the largest island in the Indian Ocean, based on a six -year lease.
British Prime Minister Karr Starmer will attend a virtual signature ceremony with Morris governme represeatives, according to the Daily Telegraph newspaper.
In year 3, the British separated the Chagus islands from Maurice – a former colony that became independe three years later – to form the British territory of the Indian Ocean.
The financial details of the agreeme have not been announced, but media reports have estimated the cost of £ 5 billion for the UK.
US Preside Donald Trump, who came to power in November, announced his support for the deal in February after meeting Starmer in Washington. Former US Preside Joe Biden also supported the deal.
