In an interview with NATO Secretary -General, the Ukrainian president emphasized the need to increase coordinated pressure and sanctions against Russia, claiming that without these pressures, fair peace could not be achieved.
Ukrainian President Waldimir Zelnski today (Wednesday) announced in a message on his telegram channel that an interview with the new secretary -general of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) was interviewed, emphasizing the need to increase pressure on Russia.
Zelnsky said in the conversation about the current situation on the battlefield, future joint actions and the need to tighten sanctions against Moscow. He claimed: “Without pressure on Moscow, one cannot achieve a fair peace; Everyone understands this. “
The Ukrainian president also said he discussed details of his contacts with international partners with the NATO Secretary -General and described the platforms intended to continue negotiations with the Russian side of the ceasefire.
He also added that talks have been held on NATO -level bilateral cooperation and preparation for future meetings, and the parties have agreed to continue the calls.
Zelnsky also emphasized the coordination between Western countries in deciding on sanctions against Russia, saying, “If the decisions are coordinated, sanctions will be effective.”
In a joint News conference with the Czech President in Brussels, the NATO Secretary -General announced that the upcoming NATO meeting in the city of Hague would be dedicated to military support for Ukraine. According to him, the purpose of these support is to ensure that Ukraine’s stronger position on the battlefield, as well as to achieve a sustainable peace agreement after the clashes.
Rate emphasized that at the meeting, all five NATO member states would discuss providing sustainable peace for Ukraine and continuing support during the war. “We have to make sure that Ukraine is in the strongest possible position as long as it is in the battle, and when peace comes – whether a ceasefire or a peace agreement – this peace must be lasting and sustainable,” he said.
