Who is the new Canadian Immigration Minister?
Lena Metlege Diab has a widespread experience in politics and law.
She has been the Minister of Immigration of the Province of Nova Scotia before two to three, and is the first Canadian-Languist woman to reach the Canadian Legislative Assembly. She was also the first woman to serve as the Attorney General and Minister of Justice in the history of Nova Scotia.
During his tenure as Minister of Immigration, Diab took great steps in the developme of provincial immigration programs;
Including the iroduction of new records in the number of permane residence candidates, the creation of routes for immigra erepreneurs, and the implemeation of Express Ery pilots for provincial migration.
He also has responsibilities at the same time:
Diab, born in the city of Halifax and in a family of immigras from Lebanon, is flue in three languages, English, French and Arabic, and has academic degrees in the fields of commerce and law from St. Mary and Delhouzi universities.
Before eering politics, he was a lawyer and a small business owner in Halifx.
Diab had a deep connection with the Canadian-Laganian community and has been the head of the Lebanese and Canadian Halifx Association. She was the first woman to reach this position.
According to the biography section of his election website for the chair of the Happex West Parliame, the values of diabis are based on “diversity, learning, cooperation and justice.”
