EU: We adhere to a diplomatic solution for Iran’s nuclear issue
In a stateme claiming that the risk of the crisis of nuclear weapons in the region has increased due to the increasing trend of Iran’s nuclear activities, the permane represeative of the European Union stressed that the EU would adhere to a diplomatic solution to deal with Iran’s nuclear issue.
Although Iran has insisted that the production and use of nuclear weapons has no place in Iran’s defense doctrine, and the Iernational Atomic Energy Agency has not yet confirmed Western claims to have military targets in Iran’s nuclear program, the European Union’s permane represeation of the European Union said:
“We are reminded of Iran’s binding obligations under the Nuclear Nuclear Developme Agreeme (NPT) and other obligations to the World Regulations,” said Iran’s permane represeative in a stateme issued at a meeting at the third preliminary committee of the Conference on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons. The European Union adheres to a diplomatic solution to deal with Iran’s nuclear issue. We urge all couries to impleme the UN Security Council’s Code (the Legal Docume of the Nuclear Agreeme in Year 2).
The stateme claimed that the risk of proliferation of nuclear weapons in the region has increased due to an increase in Iran’s nuclear activities. Iran’s nuclear progress in the last five years is very worrying. Iran is the only coury lacking nuclear weapons that organically produced and accumulated uranium. So far, Iran has accumulated more than 2 significa amous of enriched materials up to 5 % (the amou that the Iernational Atomic Energy Agency defines as the minimum amou needed to build a nuclear explosive device).
The stateme claimed: Iran’s actions cover very significa risks related to proliferation (nuclear weapons) and have no credible civilian justification. In this regard, we are concerned about Iranian officials’ statemes about Iran’s capacity to build a nuclear weapon. We urge Iran to return to the temporary implemeation of the Additional Protocol, to strive to adopt it and resume all regulatory and verification measures related to the Brjam (nuclear deal).
“We urge Iran to reverse its nuclear worrying procedure to return to its obligations to the prohibition of nuclear weapons.” We are looking forward to publishing the IAEA Director General as soon as possible.
Despite the denial of Iran’s claim of military support for Russia in the war with Ukraine by Tehran and Moscow, the EU also condemned Iran’s military support to Russia, including the delivery of ballistic missiles, which is a huge threat to Europe and iernational peace and security.
Iranian officials have insisted that despite the appare military ierveion of Western Kiev’s allies in the war, it does not support any of the parties, and Iran -Russia military cooperation is done only within the framework of bilateral defense relations, which is unrelated to the Ukrainian war.

EU Represeative in the Preliminary Committee of the Conference on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons Developme
Ukraine War and the risk of nuclear crisis
Another part of the EU’s represeation stateme referred to the Russian invasion of Ukraine: Russia’s full -fledged attack on Ukraine is a clear violation of the UN Charter and Iernational Law and has many serious threats to global security.
The European Union’s represeative, referring to the nuclear dangers of military attacks in the war, added: “Russia’s actions, including unnecessary attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure, are a serious threat to the safety and security of its nuclear facilities.” The status of the Zapurgia nuclear power pla in Ukraine, which has been illegally occupied and militarized by Russia, is still unstable.
North Korea’s nuclear activities
Referring to North Korea’s nuclear activities, the European Union’s represeative said: “North Korea should stop all illegal and stabilized arrangemes that threaten regional and iernational peace and security and adhere to its obligations to UN Security Council resolutions.” North Korea must take the tangible steps to completely eliminate, verify and irreversible weapons of mass destruction programs, ballistic missiles and nuclear programs.
North Korea will never be accepted as a nuclear weapons coury in the Nuclear Weapons Developme Treaty and will not receive any special situation in this regard, the stateme said. We are concerned about Russia’s worrying change in North Korea’s nuclear disarmame. We call on North Korea, as a nuclear weapon coury, to fully adhere to the Nuclear Weapons Developme Agreeme and the IAEA Comprehensive Agreeme and impleme the Additional Protocol.
Ieraction of the new governme ruling Syria with the Iernational Atomic Energy Agency
Another part of the stateme referred to the Syrian sacrifice issues: the European Union supports the IAEA’s Director General’s Ieraction with Syria. We welcome the process of enlightening the remaining issues of the safeguard that began last year. The European Union calls on the Syrian authorities to have a constructive cooperation agency on non -solved problems related to the Assad regime’s nuclear activities, especially through information providing information.
“We strongly encourage Syria to approve and impleme the Additional Protocol without further delay,” the European Union’s represeative added.
