Zelnski: A 5 -day ceasefire can be the first step in the right step

The Ukrainian preside rejected Russia’s proposal to launch a three -day ceasefire in May, stressing that only a three -day ceasefire provides an opportunity to reach an agreeme.
Ukrainian Preside Vladimir Zelnski has rejected Russian Preside Vladimir Putin’s proposal for the three -day ceasefire from May 1-8 (May 1-8) and has called it a dramatic move.
According to Zelksky, the purpose of the proposal is to “create the illusion that Russia is coming out of isolation.”
Infixed News Agency reported that Zelnski is seeking a 5 -day ceasefire and commensurate with the US proposed strategy.
The Ukrainian preside told reporters: “The unconditional ceasefire is what the Americans have proposed and we are looking for it; Whether it begins on that date (May 9) or sooner it is ideal. Try a 6 -day ceasefire. But why 6 days? Because it is impossible to reach any agreeme within three, five and even seven days.
“After the Vatican meeting, Trump sees the situation differe”
According to AFP, Zelksky believes that Trump has seen the situation as “a little differe” since his visit to the Vatican.
“My conversation with Trump in the Vatican last week was perhaps the best conversation we had ever had,” he said. I raised the issue of air defense systems in the Vatican with Trump, and Trump said he would work on it. My meeting with Preside Trump in the Vatican, despite his short period of time, was my best visit to date.
“The firefighting mechanisms are esseial”
Zelnsky says he does not wa to engage in short -sighted firefighters. “I agree with Trump that a six -day ceasefire with Russia is the first step,” the Ukrainian preside said. We support the US proposal that provides a realistic opportunity to reduce tension. And with the possibility of Russian ceasefire violations, precise monitoring must be established.
He also noted that the mineral agreeme with the United States is useful for both parties and gives Ukraine the opportunity to defend the future US investmes.
“Trust in Europe’s support”
Washington is a strategic step and must be approved to protect our coury’s security. I hope that the parliame will approve a bilateral agreeme with the United States on the joi extraction of our coury’s resources. This agreeme is beneficial to both parties and provides an opportunity to strengthen our coury’s air defense capabilities. The negative vote of some parliamearians to the agreeme will be at their own expense and national solidarity is very importa to deal with challenges.
“We trust Europe’s coinued support for Ukraine in the next phase,” Zelnsky said.
“The security of leaders on May 9 cannot be guaraeed”
Meanwhile, Zelnsky, referring to developmes related to the Parade of Victory Day in the Kremlin, said Ukraine could not guaraee the security of world leaders in Moscow on May 9. Russia had earlier said that the Soviet “Day of Victory” in Nazi Germany declared a three -day ceasefire.
Meanwhile, Washington’s peace talks with Russia and Ukraine, which have been going on separately in rece mohs, have not yet produced a tangible result. At the beginning of the negotiations, the parties agreed to a six -day ceasefire on the not targeting energy infrastructure. However, the ceasefire was repeatedly violated by the parties.
The US governme has said it is time for the parties to respond to Washington’s proposed peace initiative, as the US governme cannot indefinitely devote its time and resources to mediate negotiations that have no tangible results. The US State Departme announced on Friday that it still adheres to efforts to achieve peace in Ukraine, but was to reduce its mediating role.
A US State Departme spokesman told reporters: “We will no longer fly around the world as soon as they apply for mediation; Now it’s time for the two sides to prese and develop specific ideas on how the conflict end.
According to reports, Washington’s proposed agreeme involves recognizing Russian sovereigy over Crimea by the United States, stopping clashes along the curre fro lines, and recognizing Moscow’s corol over large parts of four areas. Also, reports suggest that the agreeme preveed Ukraine from joining NATO and launching a phase of sanctions against Russia.
Moscow has announced that it is ready to negotiate with Ukraine. While the Russian preside had earlier said he agrees with the US proposal, there are details that need to be examined.
