Ukrainian Preside Walodimir Zelnsky, who traveled to the Vatican to attend the funeral of Pope Francis, who died last week at the age of nine, held bilateral meetings with several world leaders.
According to Euronews, the Ukrainian preside met with Italian Prime Minister Georgia Melony at his presidency in Rome and their meeting apparely lasted less than an hour.
A stateme issued by the Italian Prime Minister Palace said: “The parties emphasized their support for US Preside Donald Trump’s efforts to achieve sustainable and just peace; “Peace that can guaraee the security, sovereigy and freedom of Ukraine.”
In his remarks, Meloni emphasized the urge and unconditional ceasefire as well as a tangible commitme by Moscow.
“We welcome Ukraine’s complete readiness for immediate ceasefire, and Russia is expected to tangible its will to pursue peace,” he said.
Earlier, the Italian newspaper La Ripoblica reported on Friday that Kiev is pressuring Rome to hold a small meeting on the Ukrainian war on the sidelines of Pope Francis.
“The governme of Georgia Melony is hesita to hold a multilateral meeting on Ukraine because he fears that such a plan will harm his coury’s fame and the result is likely to predict its failure,” the Italian media added.
