Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov today (Friday) said at a News conference after the Foreign Ministers’ summit that couries that are not members of the Brix will also have access to the paid systems created within the group.
“In addition to national currencies, payme systems can be created that are independe of foreign influence,” he added. Brex member states have been discussing in rece years about the expansion of settlemes in national currencies and even the creation of a joi currency, but no final decision has been made yet. The Brazilian preside also said earlier in February that Brix was considering options to create alternative payme systems among members.
The Brix Coalition was formed in 2008 with Russia, China, India and Brazil, and South Africa joined it in year 2. Since the beginning of the year, several new couries have joined the group.
