Europe sacrifices humanitarian aid

The Red Cross chief said some European couries have reduced humanitarian aid budget for re -armed.
According to RCO News Agency, Pierre Karahnbul, Director General of the Iernational Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), said Thursday that some European couries have reduced humanitarian aid budget for re -armed.
“The United States is not the only coury that has decided to cut funding,” Karabanbul told the Swiss-Frances newspaper. “Several European couries do the same and say that they should prioritize national defense issues and re -weapons, and thus have reduced their support for humanitarian activities.”
The Red Cross added that humanitarian activities are in critical condition due to the increase in the number of conflicts and the resignation of some donors.
On March 5, the European Commission launched a new defense strategy called Rearm Europe, which has used the use of about € 5 billion ($ 2 billion) over the next four years to strengthen the EU defense and send weapons to Ukraine.
The name of the strategy was later changed to “Preparation 2” due to protests by some EU member states, which is less aggressive.
The bulk of the “Preparation 2” project is to be financed by the European couries (about € 2 billion) and another € 5 billion will be funded by loan. The European Commission will provide budget privileges for the union couries, as well as leading budgets previously iended to develop regional developme to military spending.
The “Preparation 2” plan predicts the EU’s Member States’ military budget to a 3.5 perce increase in GDP.
In rece years, Russia has announced unprecedeed NATO activities near its western borders. The coalition expands its actions under the pretext of preveing Russian alleged threat. Moscow has repeatedly expressed concern about the increase in NATO forces in Europe.
The Russian Foreign Ministry has said that Moscow is still ready to talk to NATO, but provided that the dialogue is based on equality and the West will abandon the path to militarizing the green coine.
