Azerbaijani consultation with the European Union on bilateral cooperation and post -war issues in Gharabagh

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan announced the Secretary of State’s consultation with EU officials about bilateral cooperation and post -war activities in the Gharabagh area.
According to RCO News Agency, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry announced that Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jihon Bayramov was with Simon Mardo, Deputy Secretary General of the EU’s Foreign Action Service on Economic and Global Issues, and EU Special Represeative in the South Caucasus and South Caucasus.
In a stateme released on the consultations, Ryanovast News agency said: During the meeting (in Baku) the curre situation and the prospect of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the European Union, as well as regional and iernational issues in the area of joi ierest were discussed. Cooperation between Azerbaijan and the European Union in the fields of economics, trade, energy security, clean energy, humanitarian affairs and other areas were also examined.
At the meeting, Bayramov informed the EU represeative of the curre situation and the realities of the region in the post -clash period, poiing out that extensive reconstruction and construction activities, as well as mining are currely underway in Nagorno -Karabagh.
Baku and Yerevan have experienced teative relations since the occupation of the Karabakh area (an iernationally recognized area as part of the Republic of Azerbaijan) and seven adjace areas by the Armenian Army.
Much of the area was released by the Republic of Azerbaijan during the six -day war that took place in the fall. The war ended after a peace deal with Russia’s iermediation. The agreeme was the launch of the Normalization Negotiations and the determination of the border border between Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan.
In September, the Republic of Azerbaijan exercised its full sovereigy over Nagorno -Karabakh after surrendering the separatist forces in the area.
The parties have been working to finalize a peace treaty in rece mohs, though yesterday, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense announced the fire of Armenian forces to the Azerbaijani positions. However, Armenian officials rejected the claim and, on the corary, accused Baku of exchange of fire at the border.
