A spokesman for the French Foreign Ministry said in a stateme that the imprisonme of Akram Imam Qala and other Turkish political figures is “a serious attack on democracy”.

The vote in some Turkish cities has iensified the arrest of Imamoglu, which is one of the leading figures in the coury.
The vote was issued as the office of Akram Imam Khulalu announced that the Turkish prosecutor had asked the court to formally seence him and four of his assistas to prison on the charges of “terrorism and corruption”.
However, the office of Imamoglu has called the allegations “immoral and baseless”.
Earlier, following a call for the Republican People’s Party (CHP) for demonstrations, Turkish officials iensified security measures across the coury, especially in Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir.
At the same time, Turkish Ierior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced the arrest of four suspects in demonstrations in Turkish cities on Saturday in protest of the arrest of Imamoglu on charges of “corruption and support for terrorism”.
The Istanbul General Prosecutor’s Office announced last Wednesday the arrest of Imamoglu in connection with an organization involved in corruption, bribery and support for terrorist activities.
