Despite the Turkish governme’s ban on popular protests against Istanbul mayor Akram Imam Oglu, Turkish police used tear gas and water spraying on the third night of the rallies, according to the Mehr News Agency.
According to the media, the cities of Izmir and Istanbul saw the largest suppression of public protests by the police.
According to Reuters, the Turkish Ierior Ministry said police had arrested four people during the protests on Friday evening.
Some images se by the media over the brutal suppression of protests in Izmir show that Turkish police were violely lifted and arrested by force.
The third night protests were also held in fro of the ruling Justice and Developme Party headquarters.
On the other hand, according to TRT, Ozgur Ozel, the leader of the Turkish People’s Republic Party, the most importa opposition party of the ruling governme, urged his supporters to take a peaceful demonstration to the streets and stay there.
