The CIA’s first ierview with Russian Foreign Ielligence Service on Ukraine

The director of the US Ceral Ielligence Service and the head of the Russian Foreign Ielligence Service spoke about the proposed ielligence and ceasefire cooperation in Ukraine.
US media reported a phone call for John Retcliffe, director of the US Ceral Ielligence Agency (CIA) with the head of the Russian Foreign Ielligence Service Sergei Narcishkin.
The call was the first direct conversation between the heads of these organizations since US Preside Donald Trump came to power, and on Tuesday a day after Ukraine agreed to US a six -day ceasefire, US officials have now decided.
The source said the purpose of the call was to create a communication line between Retcliffe and Narcishkin. Also, the move is part of the Trump administration’s wider effort to engage with Russia and improve relations with Moscow.
The call was one of several ierviews expected to take place between US and Russian officials in the coming days, according to Axius. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio told reporters that the United States would explain Wednesday about negotiations with Ukrainians and a ceasefire offer to Russia. He added that if Moscow responds negatively, this opposition would be meaningful to the United States.
Rubio made the statemes in his flight from Saudi Arabia to Canada to attend the Group Seven Summit. He and US National Security Adviser Mike Waltz met with Ukrainian officials in Riyadh on Tuesday. Trump’s special envoy to West Asian affairs is also expected to travel to Moscow on Thursday and meet with Russian Preside Vladimir Putin.
The Kremlin today (Wednesday) emphasized that before announcing his position on the ceasefire, he would like to hear the United States directly. Russian officials, while planning the possibility of phone calls for Trump and Putin, announced that they expect Rubio and Waltz to inform their Russian couerparts.
It was the first time for Russian News agencies, citing a stateme from Narcishkin and Retcliffe, citing a stateme from the coury’s foreign ielligence service.
According to a stateme from the Russian ielligence agency, Narcishkin and Retcliffe discussed the cooperation between the two ielligence agencies in resolving crises and in joi areas. The parties also agreed to maiain their regular communication to help iernational stability and security and preve tensions in Moscow -Washington relations. The CIA has not yet commeed on this.
After Kiev supported the ceasefire proposal, the Trump administration resumed weapons and ielligence cooperation with Ukraine. Ukrainian Preside Walodimir Zelnsky today announced that he plans to use the six -day ceasefire to formulate a peace agreeme.
After several weeks of pressure on Ukraine, US officials now say it is Russian’s turn to make a decision.
