Semnan’s Tadin House, a valuable building from the Qajar period with historical windmills, unique architecture and a pleasa atmosphere, narrates the city’s history and culture.
Semnan’s Tadin House, also known as the “House of Mohammedia”, is one of the most beautiful old Iranian houses and one of the promine examples of Qajar architecture in Semnan. This historic house, located on Taleghani Street in Semnan, is of ierest to many tourists and researchers because of its unique architectural features.
The house of Tadin was built in the late Qajar period and was used as a residence of one of Semnan’s promine businessmen, Mohammadiyeh, the son -in -law of Mirza Abdullah Tadin. The structure of the house is designed in two parts and the ierior; The outer part comprises two large arches and basemes that were used as public spaces and reception. The inner part of the summer rooms consisted of a windmill and wier rooms that were used as the private spaces of the family.
One of the unique features of this house is its windmills that act as a natural veilation system in the summer and provide pleasa air indoors. With their clever design, these windmills direct the flow of cool air io the house and reduce the summer heat. Semnan’s Tadin House has been registered as one of Iran’s national monumes on December 5, 2009. The house is currely used as the site of the Semnan Province Cultural Heritage Departme and is open to the public.
