United Nations: We support the negotiation and possible meeting between Putin and Trump – Mehr News agency RCO News Agency

According to RCO News Agency, quoted by Tass, Farhan Haq, the Deputy Spokesman of the UN Secretary General, supported this possible meeting, referring to the reports about the possible meeting of Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, the presides of Russia and the United States, respectively, to discuss the Ukraine crisis.
In a conversation with TASS, he stated: We support all negotiations between the United States and the Russian Federation and we hope that they will coinue to participate in the dialogue.
In rece days, Trump has said that he was to meet with Putin as soon as possible. He did not rule out the complete suspension of Washington’s arms aid to Kiev on January 21. He also said that he is ready to meet with Putin whenever it suits him.
At the same time, the US preside announced the possibility of imposing tougher sanctions against Russia if Moscow refuses to reach an agreeme on Ukraine. On the other hand, Putin emphasized that Russia has never shied away from coacting America and has always been ready to negotiate. Putin and Trump last spoke on the phone on July 23, 2023.
