Grossi’s concern about the escalation of conflicts around Zaporizhia

The director general of the Iernational Atomic Energy Agency expressed his concern about the ongoing conflicts surrounding the largest nuclear power pla in Europe.
According to RCO News Agency, “Rafael Grossi”, Director General of the Iernational Atomic Energy Agency, stated that he is worried about the situation of the Zaporizhia nuclear power pla, because the iensity of military actions near this power pla has increased in rece weeks.
“For nearly three years, we have been doing everything we can to preve a nuclear accide at the Zaporizhzhia power pla and other parts of Ukraine,” Grossi said in a stateme on Thursday. No accides have occurred, but the situation has not improved and remains dangerous. I remain deeply concerned about nuclear safety and security in Ukraine, including in Zaporizhia. “Our work is not over yet.”
According to the stateme, IAEA experts at the Zaporizhia pla have heard repeated explosions outside the site over the past week, again highlighting the ongoing threat to nuclear safety during military conflicts.
“Although the sound of military action near the site has been a regular occurrence since the agency established a permane presence at the Zaporizhia pla in September 2022, it has occurred almost daily in rece weeks,” the stateme coinued.
The Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Pla, located on the bank of the Dnieper River, is the largest nuclear facility in Europe. The pla came under Russian corol in early 2022 and has since been repeatedly attacked by Ukraine, despite security concerns.
