Burrell: The European Union has a double standard regarding Netanyahu’s arrest
The former foreign policy official of the European Union accused the members of this union of applying double standards due to not implemeing the judgmes of the Iernational Criminal Court against the Prime Minister of the Zionist regime.
According to RCO News Agency, “Joseph Burrell”, the former foreign policy officer of the European Union, criticized the member states of this union for being selective and hypocritical in the implemeation of the judgmes issued by the Iernational Criminal Court.
Burrell accused the members of the European Union of applying double standards to the implemeation of the decisions of the Iernational Criminal Court and explained that while these members requested the execution of the arrest warra issued by the Court against the Russian Preside Vladimir Putin, they made the same request and commitme to According to the arrest warra, “Benyamin Netanyahu” has not been the prime minister of the Zionist regime.
Burrell emphasized that EU couries that have signed the Statute of the Iernational Criminal Court known as the Rome Statute have a legal obligation to impleme the decisions of this court. Burrell wrote in a stateme on the X social network: “The choice to behave in the coext of applying the Rome Statute is incomprehensible.”
Burrell coinued: “How can we expect third couries to enforce the Iernational Criminal Court’s arrest warra against Putin and then say that we will not enforce such a warra against Netanyahu?”
In November last year, the Iernational Criminal Court issued an arrest warra for Netanyahu and Yoav Gala, the former Minister of Defense of the Zionist regime, on charges of committing war crimes and crimes against humanity in connection with the war in Gaza.
A few mohs before that, in March 2024, this court based in The Hague, Netherlands, had also issued an arrest warra for Vladimir Putin on the alleged charges of war crimes in Ukraine.
Many European Union couries have adopted coradictory positions regarding the Iernational Criminal Court’s decision to arrest Netanyahu, and while they claim to support the court’s activities in general, they have refused to commit to the execution of the arrest warra for Netanyahu and Galla.
A few EU member states have pledged to arrest the Israeli prime minister if he steps foot on their soil, while Hungary has made it clear that it will not do anything about it.
On the other hand, the issuance of Netanyahu’s arrest warra by the Iernational Criminal Court (ICC) provoked strong criticism and opposition from the Zionist regime and its main ally, the United States, while none of them recognized the authority of the ICC. Russia does not recognize the ICC and considers the accusations against Vladimir Putin to be absurd and baseless.
However, most of the European Union couries have hypocritically emphasized the implemeation of the arrest warra issued against Vladimir Putin. In September 2024, Putin visited Mongolia, a member of the ICC, without the coury arresting Putin. This eve caused Europeans to strongly criticize Mongolia.
According to Burrell, the European Union’s double standards in applying ICC decisions have “undermined the bloc’s credibility as a law-abiding society.”
