According to RCO News Agency, quoted by Rianousti News Agency, Mote Egde, the Prime Minister of Greenland, announced in a speech on Monday: “Donald Trump’s trip to Greenland has not been planned yet.”
The Prime Minister of Greenland added in this regard: Greenland must prepare to ensure its security in the face of threats from the United States for the possible use of force.
Axios website reported on Saturday, quoting 2 informed sources, that by sending private messages to the team of “Donald Trump”, the preside-elect of the United States, Denmark has announced its readiness to discuss strengthening security on the island or increasing the American military presence there. .
According to Axios, this action of Denmark was done with the aim of solving Trump’s security concerns and preveing his claim to this island.
The website added that the Danish governme was to convince Trump that his security concerns can be addressed without claiming ownership of Greenland.
Trump, who will take office on January 20, has described US corol of Greenland, a semi-autonomous Danish territory, as a “necessity”.
He also did not previously rule out the poteial use of military or economic means, including tariffs against Denmark, to achieve his goal.
