Sullivan: We are close to a ceasefire in Gaza
The US national security adviser said a ceasefire agreeme in Gaza may be reached before the start of Donald Trump’s presidency, but it is not certain.
According to RCO News Agency, Israeli journalist Barak Ravid published a message on X social network (formerly Twitter) and quoted US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan and said that the parties are close to reaching a ceasefire agreeme in Gaza.
“We’re very close to an agreeme in Gaza, but at the same time it’s not done yet,” Sullivan said. “It is possible that an agreeme will be reached before January 20, but I am not sure.”
According to Barak Ravid, the US National Security Adviser also said that Biden is going to have a conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu soon to discuss the agreeme to establish a ceasefire in Gaza and exchange prisoners between Hamas and the Zionist regime.
Donald Trump, the preside-elect of the United States, who defeated his Democratic rival Kamala Harris in the November elections last year, will take the oath of office on January 20 (1 February) and eer the White House. He has previously asked the parties to reach a ceasefire agreeme before the start of his presidency and said that if the Zionist prisoners are not released by then, “hell will break out in the Middle East.”
