US Preside Joe Biden congratulated General Joseph Aoun, the new preside of Lebanon, on Thursday.
According to Isna, while congratulating the new preside of Lebanon, Biden said that he strongly believes that Joseph Aoun is the right person to lead Lebanon.
After several years of failure in electing the preside, the Lebanese parliame finally succeeded in achieving this goal today in the second round of voting, and Aoun Daghaighi was sworn in as the preside of Lebanon after the announceme of the result.
Joseph Aoun managed to win the majority of votes (65 votes or more) in the second round of today’s session of the Lebanese Parliame and became the Preside of Lebanon. The commander of the Lebanese army had won 71 votes in the first round.
In the second round of today’s voting, “Joseph Aoun” the commander of the army got 99 votes and “Shabli al-Mulat” got 2 votes. Also, 9 white papers and five invalid votes were cast in the box, and 13 represeatives also cast the name “Rule of Law” in the box.
