According to the Mehr news agency, citing the Vice President for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy, quantum technologies, as one of the most important scientific innovations, have the potential to fundamentally change people’s lives. These technologies are creating a huge revolution in various fields and are quickly recognized as one of the main projector technologies in the world.
In this regard, the role of the Presidential Office of Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy in the development and effective use of these technologies is significant.
Quantum technologies refer to technologies that are built using the laws of quantum mechanics; Quantum mechanics is a science that deals with the knowledge of very small particles such as atoms and photons (particles that make up light) and the laws that govern them.
This science has many differences from Newtonian and classical mechanics, which are the basis of many tools of modern life. Because of these differences, it is possible to use quantum science to achieve technologies that are far more advanced than their classical counterparts.
Quantum technologies are generally categorized into three areas: quantum computing and computing, quantum communication, and quantum sensing.
The role of scientific assistant in the development of quantum technologies
The Scientific Vice-Chancellor, as a policy-making body in the field of science and technology of the country, has formulated comprehensive plans for the development of quantum technologies.
One of the biggest challenges is the lack of specialized human resources in this field. The accuracy of education and training of forces that can work in various fields such as mathematics, computer science, physics, chemistry, mechanics, electricity, materials and information technology is considered one of the priorities of this deputy.
In this regard, the Presidential Vice-Chancellor for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy intends to support its teaching in engineering fields by using the capacity of university professors in engineering fields and in order to familiarize students of these fields with quantum sciences and technologies.
The National Science Foundation of Iran, as the executor of this program, will play a central role in its management and implementation.
Based on this, talented and capable professors in teaching quantum sciences and technologies in engineering fields are invited to participate in this program by providing educational topics to present a lesson related to quantum sciences and technologies that is customized for the engineering field.
After receiving the proposals of the professors from the National Science Foundation, the submitted titles will be judged and finally the top 20 proposals will be supported by the foundation.
The deadline for submitting designs is March 1st, and the judging of selected designs will continue until May 15. These plans will be implemented from June 1, 1404 to be presented in classrooms from October 1404.
The amount of this support is estimated at 150 million Tomans per period. The regulations of this call will soon be available to those interested on the website of the National Science Foundation and the headquarters of the science-based economy development of artificial intelligence, laser and quantum.
