According to RCO News Agency, US Preside-elect Donald Trump wrote in a message on social networks: “For the purposes of national security and freedom around the world, the United States of America feels that ownership and corol of Greenland is an absolute necessity.”
Greenland, an island located in North America, was a Danish colony uil 1953 and is still part of the Kingdom of Denmark, but in 2009 it received autonomy with the ability to self-govern and make independe choices in iernal politics.
Trump also said Ken Howery, his pick for US ambassador to Denmark, a former Swedish ambassador and erepreneur, would do a great job represeing US ierests.
In 2019, there were a series of media reports about Trump’s decision to buy Greenland. Trump himself later confirmed to reporters that he was “strategically” ierested in the issue.
