Statistics of the Turkish Ministry of Ierior on the refugees who returned to Syria

Following the developmes in Turkey, Turkish Ierior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said that the number of Syrian refugees who have returned from Turkey since December 8 has increased to 1,847.
According to RCO News Agency, the Minister of Ierior of Turkey told “Haber Turk” on Saturday in the latest information about Syrian refugees and asylum seekers: “Currely, 2,938,261 Syrians live in our coury.”
The Turkish official added: “The number of Syrians who voluarily returned to their coury reached 240 by December 8, when the regime (Bashar Assad, the former preside of Syria) fell in Damascus. But after the liberation of Syria, this number increased to 1,847 people uil yesterday.
Earlier, Turkish Preside Recep Tayyip Erdogan promised to simplify the process of voluary return of Syrians to their coury.
As of early December, more than 2.9 million Syrian refugees were staying in Türkiye, more than 1.5 million of whom were minors.
The Syrian armed opposition captured the Syrian capital Damascus on December 8. Russian officials have said that Assad stepped down after negotiating with the participas in the Syrian conflict and left Syria for Russia, where he sought asylum.
Mohammad al-Bashir, who ran the Idlib-based governme formed by Tahrir al-Sham and other opposition groups, was appoied ierim prime minister on December 10. He later announced that the ierim governme has been formed and will be in office uil March 2025.
