
Wood-burning fireplaces are the biggest source of Britain’s most dangerous air polluta, PM2.5, researchers have warned. While the UK has seen significa reductions in pollution from road transport and heavy industries such as steel in rece decades, the increasing use of wood-burning fireplaces has significaly increased particulate emissions.
