Sullivan goes to the occupied territories
Axios, quoting Hebrew sources, announced the visit of US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan to the occupied territories on Thursday.
According to RCO News Agency, Sullivan is going to meet Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and a number of Zionist officials. Sullivan’s visit will coincide with the meeting of the Israeli security cabinet at the headquarters of the Zionist forces in Tel Aviv.
According to this report, this official of the Biden governme will discuss the ceasefire in Lebanon, the sudden fall of the Syrian regime and the developmes in the talks between the prisoners and Hamas.
In addition to meeting with Netanyahu, Sullivan plans to meet with Defense Secretary Yisrael Katz and Strategic Affairs Secretary Ron Dermer, as well as his Israeli couerpart, Tzakhi Hangbi.
Earlier on Monday, the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office denied Qatar’s report of “serious” progress in indirect talks between Tel Aviv and Hamas for a ceasefire agreeme that includes the release of Israeli prisoners.
“These reports are not true,” the Detainee Affairs Departme in Netanyahu’s office said in a message se to the families of the captives.
Al-Arabi Al-Jadeed reported that the negotiations between the Israeli side and Hamas have reached an advanced stage. According to this report, Hamas has handed over the initial list of prisoners to mediators to be included in the upcoming exchange deal. The report said people in need of medicaltreatme and the elderly were at the top of the list, along with four prisoners of US citizenship. Indirect negotiations between Israel and Hamas to renew a prisoner-release deal last year dragged on for mohs, with the United States, Egypt, Qatar and others acting as mediators.
