Some iernational tourists who have visited Alamut Castle have shared their opinion and experience with Google users.
Alamut is a historical castle in the heights of Qazvin’s Alamut region, which is very popular among visitors due to its rich history. This castle, which is built on top of a rock with a height of 2163, was the headquarters of Hasan Sabah, the leader of the Ismailis of Alamut. The size of Dej Alamut reaches more than 20,000 square meters, and due to its fortifications and natural resources, it was considered an impregnable fortress. However, it was burned after the Mongol invasion. Today, many Iranian and foreign tourists visit the ruins of Alamut Castle and share their opinions and experiences on Google Maps.

It is about 110 kilometers away from Qazvin. The roads go through the mouains and are quite winding. Along the way, you can see many mouain views. No need to tell the history of the castle; But I must say that the original castle was destroyed hundreds of years ago and now only ruins remain. Many people ask if it is worth going or not! Well, it depends on your ierest. There is not much except the ruins of the castle and the mouainous landscape; But if you wa to visualize the stories and are really curious about this place, it is worth going.
2. Trisha Dwyer (Trisha Dwyer) from Great Britain
The mysterious stories of Alamut Castle in the Middle Ages along with the beauty of the scenery made it a memorable visit. The fort was built around 865 AD on top of a rock at a poi where eagles might land. It is said that the name Alamut means “eagle’s nest” or “eagle’s training”.
Alamut was the seat of the Nizari Ismaili governme. Among the many forts, Alamut is the most famous and was thought to be impregnable against any military attack. There are stories of heavenly gardens, libraries, and laboratories where philosophers, scieists, and theologians can debate in iellectual freedom. This fort survived many attacks before the Mongol attack in 1256, during which the library was completely destroyed.

The hiking and sightseeing are the best parts. The castle is covered with scaffolding; But you can still walk around and get a glimpse of what it once was.
4. Benoit Beot (Benoit Bennetot) from France
You must have a deep imagination in this castle. Almost nothing is left of this castle that dominates the noble area; A place that once sheltered the sect of murderers! (400 men!). Today, we can easily reach the summit thanks to the steps installed on the less steep side, the only staircase that once allowed humans and animals to reach the castle. This visit made me wa to read the novel “Barton” or even “Maalouf” (Samarkand) again!
5. Hubert Krenkel from Germany
It was a very beautiful and ieresting place!
