Taiwan’s preside’s conversation with Pelosi about China’s “threats”.

In a call with the former speaker of the US House of Represeatives, the preside of Taiwan discussed what he called “China’s military threats” against this self-governing island.
According to Isna, Taiwan’s Preside Lai Ching-te is in Hawaii, and this is his first stop on a trip to the Pacific Ocean that has angered Beijing.
Also, former Speaker of the US House of Represeatives Nancy Pelosi’s long-term support for Taiwan has angered China, and China responded to her visit to Taipei in 2022 with extensive military exercises around the island.
Taiwanese leadership spokeswoman Karen Ko told reporters that Lai and Pelosi discussed China’s “military threats” against Taiwan. According to AFP, he described the 20-minute call between these “old friends” as “warm and friendly”.
China, which considers Taiwan a part of its territory, opposes any iernational recognition of Taiwan and its claim to have an independe territory. Beijing is particularly upset by official coact between the island and the United States, which is Taiwan’s main supporter and biggest arms supplier.
China has already been angered by the US selling more weapons to the island and Lai’s stopover in Hawaii.
Since Saturday, Lai has met with the governor of Hawaii, members of the US Congress, officials from the de facto US embassy in Taiwan and others.
In his first public speech of the trip, Taiwan’s preside said that “we must fight together to preve war” and warned that there are “no winners” in the conflict.
Ahead of his week-long visit, the United States approved the sale of F-16 spare parts and radar systems as well as communications equipme to Taiwan in deals worth $385 million.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China further asked the United States to immediately stop arming Taiwan and stop supporting the separatist forces of “Taiwan independence”. The stateme coinued: “China will take strong and resolute couermeasures to resolutely defend national sovereigy, security and territorial iegrity.”
In a separate stateme, China’s Foreign Ministry said China “strongly condemns” the United States for welcoming Lai to Hawaii and that it “shared its serious objections with the United States.”
