Destruction of the water supply channel of the main power plas in Kosovo after the explosion – Mehr News Agency | RCO News Agency

According to Mehr news agency, quoted by Reuters, the water supply channel of the cooling systems of two main coal-fired power plas in Kosovo, which supplies most of the electricity to this autonomous region, was destroyed following an explosion.
Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Korti called the incide a “terrorist attack” and claimed that the neighboring coury, Serbia, was involved. Without providing details about the amou of damage, he told this channel that the explosion was carried out by professionals and probably on the order of Belgrade.
This incide happened near the city of “Zubin Potok” in the north of Kosovo. The pictures published in the local media show that the side of this reinforced channel is destroyed and water is coming out with high pressure. This canal extends from the north of Kosovo, where the majority of its inhabitas are Serbs, to Prishtina, the capital of Kosovo, and supplies drinking water to this autonomous region.
The American embassy in Pristina also called this incide a terrorist attack and while condemning it, announced that it is closely monitoring the situation.
Hostilities between predominaly ethnic Albanian Kosovo and Serbia have persisted since the end of the war between Serbian forces and Albanian rebels in the late 1990s. Kosovo unilaterally declared independence in 2008, and Serbia, which considers it part of its territory, has refused to recognize it.
