The border delimitation plan between Azerbaijan and Armenia was approved

The Parliame of Armenia approved the joi action plan between Baku and Yerevan to demarcate and maiain the security of the borders of the two couries, which is considered as part of the peace treaty between the two neighbors.
According to RCO News Agency, the Armenian parliame on Wednesday approved the regulation of the joi activity of the commissions of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan in the field of border demarcation and border security.
According to “Armen Press” report, this regulation was signed between Armenia and Azerbaijan at the end of August 2024.
This regulation was approved in the general session of the Armenian Parliame on Wednesday with 67 votes in favor. The opposition parties of the Armenian Parliame boycotted the voting and did not participate in it.
Represeatives of Armenian parliameary parties said on Tuesday that the coury’s opposition will boycott the upcoming legal debates of the committee responsible for border delimitation with the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Sputnik News agency reported that “Armen Rostamian”, a member of the “Armenia” party in the parliame of this coury, said: “The Armenian party will not participate in this illegal process.” This participation is likely to be ierpreted as an acknowledgme of its legitimacy, so we will neither engage in discussions about it nor vote for it.

On Monday, the Foreign Relations Committee of Armenia approved the draft of a docume related to organizing the joi activities of the committees responsible for delimiting the borders of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan. The August 30 docume was approved by the Armenian Cabinet on September 5 and by the Constitutional Court on September 26.
Nevertheless, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, on Wednesday, during the general session of the Armenian Parliame, said in a parliameary question and answer session with cabinet members: “The regulations of the commissions of Armenia and Azerbaijan to determine the boundaries of the borders define the principles of delimitation of the legal territories of the Republic of Armenia.” determines and these principles must be implemeed.”
He emphasized that the basis of Armenia’s security strategy is legitimacy and they are committed to follow this approach.
“I believe that the regulations passed by the National Assembly are a very importa eve and we should appreciate them because they determine the principles of delimiting the legal territories of Armenia, which must be realized,” Pashinyan said.
Stating that there will be opposing opinions, he said: “There are views and deliberate efforts both inside and outside of Armenia to deviate from this strategy.”
Pashinyan reiterated that Armenia will not deviate from the established strategy. In addition, the Prime Minister of Armenia expressed his readiness to consider and listen to all argumes and concerns.
Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan have started talks on delimiting borders as part of a peace treaty from 2022.
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has promised that he is ready to recognize the national sovereigy of Azerbaijan in the Nagorno-Karabakh region.
