Mayor of Kazan: We are 100% ready

According to RCO News Agency, “Ilsor Metshin” said: Leaders of BRICS couries and partner couries will judge Russia with Kazan today (Tuesday), so in all the past mohs we have prepared ourselves with the feeling of the highest responsibility that rests on our city. The whole world will be focused on Kazan in these three days, and our task is not to leave the coury’s trust in us unanswered, the trust of the Russian Preside, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin. Today, I can confidely say that Kazan is 100% ready to host the BRICS meeting.

According to the mayor of Kazan, during the preparation of the summit, work was done in all areas: renovation of roads, buildings, networks, hotels, public spaces, personnel training, security issues.

He added: We walked all 26 reception routes. We looked io the eyes of every manager and building owner. We met many of them last year – hoteliers, for example. Now 53 hotels and additional accommodation facilities are ready.

At the same time, Metshin emphasized that Kazan had started preparations long before the Russian Preside signed the decree on holding a meeting in Kazan in April of last year. According to the mayor, basically everything that has been done in the city in rece years has become a sort of rehearsal before the BRICS summit: the Kazan Millennium Celebration, the 2013 Universiade, the World Aquatics Championships, the World Football Championships, the World Skills, Future Games and BRICS Games all today make Kazan confidely ranked among the best cities in the coury in various indicators.

The mayor noted: As a result of the systematic work done in Tatarstan under the leadership of the Preside Rostam Minikhanov and the first Preside of Tatarstan Miimer Shaimiev, this city has become a stage and arena.

The BRICS summit will be held in Kazan from October 22 to 24 (Tuesday to Thursday). BRICS is an iergovernmeal association that was established in 2006. Russia assumed the presidency of BRICS on January 1, 2024. This year began with the addition of new members to the forum – in addition to Russia, Brazil, India, China and South Africa, now Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, UAE and Saudi Arabia have joined it.

The BRICS presidency is held by Russia with the slogan of strengthening multilateralism for fair global developme and security. As part of its presidency, Russia has organized more than 200 political, economic and social eves.
