Coinued power outages in Cuba/millions of people are still in absolute blackout! – Mehr News agency RCO News Agency

According to Mehr news agency, citing Anatoly, the failure of Cuba’s main electricity supply pla put millions of people in this coury in complete blackout for the second day in a row.
Reports indicate that Friday’s outage at the Aonio Guiteras power pla in Matanzas, Cuba, left most people in the coury in the dark.
Power has been restored in some areas, including the Cuban capital, Havana, following iensive efforts, officials said. However, about 80% of the coury is still blackout, and some specific areas have experienced power outages of more than 30 hours.
Images published online show that the “Jose Marti” Iernational Airport in Havana is engulfed in darkness. In the meaime, Cuban energy officials are evaluating measures to address the widespread blackout.
Cuba is constaly facing power outages due to problems with power plas, and it is said that the reason is the infrastructure problems of the coury’s facilities, which were built by the former Soviet Union more than 40 years ago.
Cuba’s Ministry of Energy and Mines has announced that the coury burns eight million tons of fuel annually, and only three million tons come from domestic consumption.
The economic sanctions imposed on Cuba have made the coury depende on Venezuela, Russia and Mexico for its energy needs.
In rece years, the Cuban governme has leased out floating power plas in order to adjust power outages and increase production capacity.
