Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan: A new atmosphere has been created in the South Caucasus

During his speech at the UN General Assembly, the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan said: The end of the armed conflict with Armenia and the restoration of the sovereigy and territorial iegrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan have created a new atmosphere in the South Caucasus. For the first time in decades, there is stability in the region and real peace.
According to RCO News Agency, Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jihon Bayramov also said that by ending the military occupation, it is Baku that created the conditions for both sides, which finally ended the enmity and brought about good neighborly relations.
According to the APA News site, this diplomat of the Republic of Azerbaijan further said: “Baku shows its political vigilance and desire by offering peace with equal conditions, based on the norms and principles of iernational laws, on the basis of mutual respect and respecting the right to sovereigy and territorial iegrity to Armenia.” has shown
In the past year, Baku and Yerevan have made significa progress in the process of normalization through direct bilateral negotiations, especially in the field of drafting a bilateral agreeme, delimiting the boundaries and determining the state borders, as well as developing a series of confidence-building measures.
The Foreign Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan noted that Baku will coinue to advance this process with a strong sense of responsibility not only for its national security and well-being, but also to ensure a better future for the eire region. The commitme and determination of the Republic of Azerbaijan to bring this process to its logical conclusion is still standing.
Bayramov coinued: In order to finalize the normalization process, Armenia has not yet given up its territorial claims against the Republic of Azerbaijan through the implemeation of constitutional amendmes. Armenia’s laxity in implemeing constitutional reforms, along with a dramatic increase in its military budget, acquisition of large quaities of offensive weapons from old and new suppliers, and attempts to maiain outdated conflict-orieed narratives and structures, derails the normalization process.
He coinued, if the recognition of the sovereigy and territorial iegrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan is in legal uncertaiy and subject to iernal legal or political scenarios, the establishme of peace and good neighborly relations cannot be sustainable. “Relative peace” is not a suitable option after so much pain and suffering caused by monopolization and territorial claims against neighbors.
This diplomat of the Republic of Azerbaijan also said that due to Armenia’s responsibility in complying with iernational requiremes and commitmes, the iernational community should push the parties to establish an acceptable, irreversible and iellige peace. Such peace must remain separate from any dispute and division that may be created by one of the parties. Actions that have caused destruction in other parts of the world should not lead to the destruction of the South Caucasus with the support of ill-wishers.
