In a groundbreaking move, the German Cybersecurity Agency (Cyberageur) has awarded coracts to four leading quaum technology companies to build the world’s first portable quaum computer by 2027. This project, which is associated with an investme of 35 million euros, shows Germany‘s serious commitme to developing new technologies and strengthening cyber security.
According to the scieific news departme of Tekna Technology Media, the portable quaum computer developed in this project is designed with the aim of improving the defense and security capabilities of the coury. This device will be able to perform complex calculations in real time and in differe environmes. Another poteial application of this technology is increasing data security and dealing with advanced cyber threats. It also enables the processing of a huge amou of data in a short time and performing complex simulations in differe fields of science.
The four companies involved in the project each bring specific expertise and include Quaum Brilliance, ParityQC, Oxford Ionics and neQxt. Quaum Brilliance plays a key role in this project, focusing on the developme of small and efficie room-temperature quaum chips. The company’s chips use nitrogen-vacuum ceers in syhetic diamonds as qubits, allowing them to operate without the need for bulky cooling systems.
ParityQC will also help to increase efficiency and reduce quaum computing errors by developing a scalable quaum architecture and dedicated operating system. Oxford Ionics is going to help produce highly accurate and reliable quaum chips by providing advanced electronic qubit corol technology. And lastly, neQxt, this company by developing a modular and portable quaum system, will enable the use of quaum computers in differe environmes. will provide, including battlefields.
In this project, new technologies such as miniaturized quaum chips, scalable quaum architecture, electronic qubit corol and modular quaum systems are used. Together, these technologies enable the construction of a powerful, portable, and reliable quaum computer. The developme of a portable quaum computer is a big step towards the commercialization of quaum technology and the expansion of its applications in various industries. This project shows that Germany is a world leader in research and developme of quaum technologies. To see the latest news, refer to the scieific news page of Tekna Media.
