Zelensky canceled the meeting with Latin American leaders

The Ukrainian governme has canceled a planned meeting between Volodymyr Zelenskiy and Latin American leaders for fear of becoming a public relations disaster, a Brazilian newspaper reported.
According to RCO News Agency, the Brazilian newspaper Folha de S.Paulo wrote: Few leaders had confirmed that they would participate in this eve. Initially, Kyiv planned to hold these talks on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.
According to this report, the idea behind the meeting was to show symbolic support to Kiev in the conflict with Moscow. Ukrainian officials are reported to have said that providing what they called “releva and reliable information” about the war was a “proper platform” for Zelensky.
Kyiv also waed to support Zelensky’s so-called “peace formula” — a set of demands put forward by Ukraine as a precondition for poteial peace talks. Moscow rejected these requests and called them unacceptable.
The newspaper reported that Kyiv was forced to drop its plans after receiving only “few confirmations to attend,” adding that the Ukrainian governme decided to “avoid a situation that could be ierpreted as a lack of support.”
With the exception of Guatemalan Preside Bernardo Arevalo, there were no confirmations or names of leaders who said they would attend the meeting.
Ukraine has received steady support from the West since the start of armed conflict with Russia in February 2022, but has failed to garner much support elsewhere in the world. Many Asian, African and South American couries, including China, India and Brazil, chose neutrality and called for a diplomatic solution. Recely, Mexican Preside-elect Claudia Sheinbaum told reporters that she will pursue a policy of non-ierveion on the world stage and has no plans for a state visit to Ukraine.
Last week, Zelensky rejected the six-poi road map proposed by China and Brazil. Brazilian Preside Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva responded by saying that he would not allow his coury to be drawn io the conflict.
