Pashinyan and Blinken’s consultation about Yerevan-Baku peace

According to Isna, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and American Prime Minister Ahony Blinken had a phone call today (Thursday).

In July, Blinken hosted talks between Armenia’s Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and his couerpart from the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeihun Bayramov, in Washington on the sidelines of the NATO summit on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishme of this organization.

Blinken and the US State Departme have pressed Yerevan and Baku to quickly sign a peace accord, saying in June that the US expected Armenia and Azerbaijan to make “hard compromises” to finally sign a peace agreeme between the two couries.
“There is a unique opportunity to impleme a peace agreeme between Armenia and Azerbaijan that will end years of conflict,” Blinken said in a speech at the Brookings Institution in Washington in July, according to the US State Departme.

Armenia insists that an agreeme be signed with the Republic of Azerbaijan, which includes the agreed articles, but the Republic of Azerbaijan does not accept such a thing and has demanded the resolution of all issues.
