According to RCO News Agency, citing Rashatoudi, Russian Preside Vladimir Putin announced in a meeting with the represeatives and security officials of the “BRICS” couries that “BRICS is forming a council to combat money laundering and terrorist financing.”
He also said: More than 70% of the programs within the framework of Russia’s presidency in BRICS have been completed. Russia pays a lot of atteion to security issues within the framework of BRICS
Putin also added: BRICS has gained significa experience in responding to security challenges, including cyber crimes and fighting terrorism. During this year, Russia’s activities in the framework of its presidency of BRICS have been focused on iegrating the new members of this group as quickly as possible.
A few hours ago, during the security meeting of the BRICS member states in St. Petersburg, the Russian preside welcomed the represeatives of this group with high-ranking security officials.
The 14th two-day meeting of BRICS represeatives started yesterday under the chairmanship of Sergei Shoigu, the secretary of the Russian Security Council. Since the beginning of this year, Moscow has held the rotating presidency of this group.
Putin met and welcomed the officials of the member states in the “Marble Hall” of the “Konstainovsky” Palace in St. Petersburg. Tass wrote that Putin’s bilateral talks with some BRICS represeatives are likely.
Dmitry Peskov, the spokesman of the Kremlin, said earlier that there is a possibility of Putin’s presence and a meeting with the security officials of the BRICS members. Among the topics of the curre BRICS summit, we can meion the future order of the world, overcoming the law-based order imposed by the West, the developme and coordination of multipolar measures in case of possible confroation and unpredictable developmes in iernational affairs.
Ali Akbar Ahmadian, represeative of the Supreme Leader and Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, is prese in this meeting on behalf of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
In addition to the meeting of the BRICS members, a joi meeting between the represeatives of the BRICS member couries and the high-level security represeatives of some southern couries, including Indonesia, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Serbia, Thailand, Belarus, Vietnam, Venezuela, Uzbekistan, Nicaragua, Cuba, the Republic of Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Mauritania and Laos will be held.
On the sidelines of these 2 meetings, Ahmadiyan will have separate meetings with some of his couerparts.
