European Union angered by Putin’s visit to Mongolia

The Rome Statute is an iernational treaty that establishes the Court, which Mongolia ratified in 2002.
In the coinuation of its stateme, the union announced: “The Preside of Russia is under the arrest warra of the Iernational Criminal Court due to iernational crimes, especially the crimes of illegal deportation and illegal transfer of children from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine in the framework of his illegal war of aggression against Ukraine. is located iernationally. The European Union expresses its strongest support for efforts to ensure full accouability of Russia for war crimes and other serious crimes related to its war of aggression against Ukraine. In this regard, the European Union supports the investigation of the Prosecutor of the Iernational Criminal Court in Ukraine and calls for the full cooperation of all member states.
The European Union concluded its stateme: “The European Union reiterates its unwavering support for the Iernational Criminal Court and for the independence, sovereigy and territorial iegrity of Ukraine within its iernationally recognized borders.”
During his visit to Mongolia today, Vladimir Putin met with Ukhnagin Khorlesukh, the preside of this coury, and emphasized the developme of Russia’s relations with this Asian coury.
In a meeting with his couerpart, Putin said: “Relations between Russia and Mongolia are developing in all directions, and effective measures are being taken in the humanitarian field.”
The Preside of Mongolia, in turn, thanked Putin for this trip; The trip is held in a year when the two couries celebrate several anniversaries at the same time, among them the 80th anniversary of the joi victory in the Khalkhin Gol River battle and the 50th anniversary of the founding of the city of Arde.
Mongolia’s warm welcome to the Preside of Russia comes while earlier, the Iernational Criminal Court demanded the arrest of Putin by Mongolia because of his membership in this independe legal body.
“Fadi al-Abdullah”, the spokesman of the Iernational Criminal Court, said that all the couries that have signed the Rome Statute are “obliged to cooperate in accordance with the nih chapter of this statute.”
He added: “If this coury does not cooperate, the judges of the Iernational Criminal Court will come to the conclusion that they will inform the assembly of member states about it. In this case, it is the assembly that takes any action it deems appropriate.”
According to Kiev’s announceme, Ukraine has also submitted an official request to Mongolia to arrest Putin.
In March 2023, the Iernational Criminal Court issued an arrest warra for Putin and accused him of deporting children and transferring them from areas corolled by Ukraine to the Russian Federation.
Moscow, however, called these accusations ridiculous and said that removing civilians from conflict areas is not a war crime.
Russia and Ukraine are not members of the Rome Statute.
