While there is no requireme to boil water before drinking, according to researchers, the only simple way to remove microplastics on a large scale is to boil water.
According to Tekna technology and technology news service, currely microblastic particles are everywhere and it seems that it is not possible to get rid of them. According to researchers, these tiny plastic particles are now prese in clouds, food, breast milk and even placea. A new study shows that a simple and practical solution to reduce microplastic particles in drinking water is to boil it.
The researchers stated in their studies that by boiling and filtering water, it is possible to remove 90% of microplastic particles from water. According to them, these particles are currely prese in 129 samples of tap water out of a total of 159 water samples in 14 couries of the world. The effects of these particles on human health have not yet been determined. But there will be some possible risks in coact with microplastics. Of course, more research is needed to understand the consequences of the presence of microplastics and its risks to human health. Due to the low speed of science, it may take a long time to form a vision of the existence of these particles and their effects. In their rece study, Chinese researchers simulated tap water with common mineral and chemical substances in it. They conducted these experimes with the aim of possible removal of microblastic particles in water through boiling.
The result of the study showed that hard water with high concerations of substances such as calcium and magnesium causes the solidified calcium carbonate to form a shell around plastic particles. So, using a simple filter like a coffee filter, these particles can be separated from the water. According to the researchers, more studies are needed to determine the benefits of this method. Of course, the amou of microplastics in water is related to its quality in every region of the world.
