NASA has tested its hybrid aenna, which was developed by Iranian engineer Barzia Tehrani.
According to Tekna technology and technology news service, Iranian NASA engineer Barzia Tehrani has developed a hybrid aenna for laser and radio space communication. Now, in a new initiative, NASA is testing this gia hybrid aenna that can be used to manage radio and laser signals hundreds of millions of kilometers deep in space.
One of the importa pois related to the Psyche mission is the space optical communication part of this mission, where a laser receiver can receive or send laser signals. By using this method instead of conveional radio systems, communication will be several times faster. The launched robotic probe has achieved significa successes so far, and the deep space optical communications departme managed to send data from a distance of 16 million kilometers, equivale to 40 times the distance from the Earth to the Moon.
Although the connection between Earth and Psyche requires a complex set of experimes, NASA plans to use a simpler method for this very complex system. The space agency needs something more specific and permane that it can use in a separate project. Currely, NASA is working on a hybrid aenna that can be iegrated with three deep space network stations in California, Spain, and Australia. The test version of this aenna is a 34-meter radio-frequency optical hybrid system that is now located aboard Deep Space Station 13 at the Space Communications Complex in Goldstone, California.
The desired dish can receive the laser beam from space and focus it on the receiver in the form of a camera with high exposure. This receiver is suspended in the sub-reflector part of the aenna and in the upper part of the ceer of the plate. Then, the signal is se with the help of an optical fiber to a nanowire and semiconductor single-photon detector, which is cooled with the help of a cryogenic cooler. In this way, readable levels will be strengthened in it. In the test of this aenna, it was possible to maiain communication with Psyche and a downlink with a speed of 15.63 megabits per second was created with a speed 40 times faster than radio at a distance of 32 million kilometers.
