Creating a satellite map of methane leakage with the help of Google artificial intelligence

Google plans to collaborate with a non-profit organization called EDF to create a map of methane leaks. This cooperation will be done through Google's artificial intelligence.

According to Tekna technology and technology news service, while carbon dioxide is always talked about as the main cause of air pollution and global warming, methane is responsible for about 30% of the increase in temperature. For this reason, Google plans to cooperate with a non-profit fund in defense of the environment and use artificial intelligence to produce a map of this gas leak.

According to the report published in this case, Google in collaboration with EDF is preparing a map of methane pollution in the world on related oil and gas infrastructure. These two companies hope that by using this map, the main sources of methane leakage can be identified and for Prevent further contamination.

The nonprofit will launch a satellite called MethaneSAT in the coming months to track methane gas. After that, Google's artificial intelligence prepared a map of oil and gas infrastructure, and thus it is possible to identify the sources of pollution in the world.
