15 years ago on this day, the Bitcoin network started its activity. The first block of the Bitcoin network was mined by Satoshi Nakamoto, the anonymous creator of this digital currency, and the first transaction in the history of this blockchain was received by Hal Finney, one of the influeial figures in the developme of Bitcoin.
Today, January 3, 2024 (Dan 13, 1402), is the 14th anniversary of the mining of the genesis block or block number zero of the Bitcoin network. Satoshi Nakamoto, the legendary creator of Bitcoin, on this day in 2009, mined the first block of the Bitcoin network with a reward equal to 50 BTC.
A few weeks later, Nakamoto se 10 BTC to Hal Finney, a computer scieist and one of the early adopters of Bitcoin, the first transaction based on this digital currency between two people.
Nakamoto was last active on the popular Bitcoialk forum 13 years ago, after which he left the cryptocurrency community forever, and his ideity remains an unsolved mystery to this day.
Although Nakamoto has had no role in Bitcoin's developme process for years, the network has undergone successful updates during this time with the support of other active developers, and despite price fluctuations, its technology coinues to grow.
